Resistance Loop Bands (12”)
Resistance loop bands (sometimes called mini bands) are a simple, versatile tool that can help build strength, awareness and joint control. They are usually sold in packs of three to five with varying degrees of resistance, which allows you to work progressively and intelligently as you simultaneously build strength and increase mobility. They are especially wonderful when doing targeted work on the legs, hips, or shoulders.
Resistance Bands (Long)
Resistance bands (long) are one of the most useful props! Like their cousin the mini loop band, they can assist or resist a movement, and can be used for everything from stretching to strengthening to helping improve mobility/stability, body awareness and coordination. I recommend buying a 6-yard roll of red and/or green Theraband brand bands. That way you can see which resistance you prefer for various movement and body regions. They can also be cut to your desired length.
Kettlebells
Pick your desired weight. These can be hard to find due to Covid-19. I recommend starting lighter. Filled water bottles, or a large bottle of laundry detergent with a handle can be a substitute.
Dumbbells
Pick your desired weight. These can be hard to find due to Covid-19. I recommend starting lighter. Filled water bottles, or a large bottle of laundry detergent with a handle can be a substitute.
Ankle/Wrist Weights
I love ankle and/or wrists weights. They can be used instead of dumbbells for certain arm movements. They are extremely versatile, easy to use and easily available. I recommend between 2 and 4 lbs.
Fabric Bands
These thick fabric bands are good for strengthening your legs, hips, and buttocks. They are quite stiff, so they might not be useful for some movements, but they are great when you’re looking to really challenge your legs & glutes.
Shoulderstand Foam Platform
The Platform provides a very even and consistant support, and the set up is super fast and accurate. Place the shoulderstand platform on a sticky mat. For additional height, lay a folded blanket on top.
Pull Bands
These resistance bands are sometimes called jump bands or pull bands. They are a closed loop and offer more resistance. You can use them in various ways (anchored around heavy furniture or a heavy weight or to your own body) for various pulling movements, jumps, leg work and more. They are lightweight, versatile, and easy to travel with.
